Job Title: Senior Project Manager Salary: £55,000 - £80,000 Location: West Midlands - Home Based with travel to client site Reporting To: Head of Project Management Who you’ll be working for: A state of the art company providing technology to the public sector. This role is at the cutting edge of crime intelligence and making a major impact on peoples lives. Job Purpose: To achieve a quality project implementation within time and budget constraints for the assigned customers, whilst being respectful of other programme team objectives. Responsibilities and Duties: The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the success of the Programme both internally, in terms of the highest level of profitability commensurate with optimal client satisfaction within the operating framework defined by the contract. The main responsibilities of the role are as follows: • Stakeholder Management • Build strong relationships with Senior Stakeholders • To manage the implementation process as defined in the current Implementation Process Model(s) • To ensure the customer is aware of their respective responsibilities and commits to resources required • To manage the progress of work performed by the client and Third Parties • To be the prime customer contact and promote the client’s products and company professionally at all times • To maintain regular, frequent contact with the customer and develop a profitable relationship with key customer personnel • To manage problems through to resolution escalating proactively and formally as necessary • To maintain accurate quality records of customer project work, sufficient to allow seamless handover to a colleague • To continually assess the implementation project and propose process improvements Personal Qualities, Skills and Experience: • Project Management experience in IT projects • Able to work alone and as effectively as a team player • Strong commercial awareness • Excellent Negotiator • Proven ability to self-manage and remain productive under pressure. • Professionally presented and a great ambassador for the Company • Positive work ethic which includes willingness to work extended hours where appropriate • Numerate, methodical, approachable, an excellent communicator at many levels • Willingness to assist others • Strong report writing skills • Direct experience of or background in the software Development process including QA and Release Management • Direct experience of or background in Infrastructure/Hosting • Understanding of Service Management • Experience of managing 3rd parties • Experience of responding to complex tenders • Understanding of APIs • Experience of delivering systems that interface with 3rd party systems • Experience of delivering projects which involve migration of data from the predecessor system • Full understanding of revenue recognition principles including accruing and deferring revenue • Experience of delivering systems with a blended learning element to their training • Ability to understand complex contracts and pick out the salient points • Ability to understand complex software applications for police systems and talk to police personnel in a knowledgeable way Required Qualifications: • PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent certification • Demonstrable knowledge of MS Project (or equivalent), Word, Excel, Powerpoint The next steps So you know where you stand, we aim to respond to applicants within 5 working days.
