Our Birmingham (B7) based client, a long established and experienced provider of bespoke timber and corrugated transit packaging, is seeking a skilled Production Operative for an immediate start. Amongst their product range are; bespoke pallets, timber crates, timber cases, plywood cases and many timber components. The company specialises in manufacturing wooden crates and are now a first tier supplier to many well-known car manufacturers, as well as a range of other sectors.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a seasoned Production Operative to demonstrate and develop their skills in manual assembly, working to basic drawings and building the parts to order.

The successful Production Operative will:

Be aware that the role is physically demanding and heavy lifting will be involved.
Adhere to all Health and Safety within the warehouse.
Would be comfortable with operating a range of hand tools: drills, hand guns, loupes, screwdrivers etc.
Flexible, to work in different areas of the warehouse without discussion.
Have prior experience as a Production Operative
Be Prepared that work can sometimes be monotonous and repetitive.
Punctual, Reliable and trustworthy.
Good organisational skills, when it is quiet and when it is very busy whilst maintaining a tidy work station.
Confidence in working to deadlines in a high pressure environment.
Flexibility to meet urgent business requests outside of standard procedures and timescales.

In return the company is offering:

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 0700 - 15:30, with an hour flexibility to the start and finish time.

Duration: Temp to perm upon completion of a 12 week trial

Rate of pay: £7.50 per hour, with eventual pay rates on offer upon completion of a perm contract

They really want the person who starts this role to become a permanent member of the team. You will complete a one hour unpaid, on site induction. Two days' work (paid) then continue on to your temp to perm assignment, should they feel you are the most suitable candidate.
