The Project Engineer’s role is an integral team member in the department to enable the successful delivery of new and amended parts to our customers. The role will involve supporting relevant departments in the success of new NPI’s from a projects perspective from tooling, machines or processes that will be attributed to the launch. The projects engineer will be the interface between customer and internal departments ensuring the delivery of the products meets the schedule agreed and bringing other departments together to resolve issues that become evident.

Main Duties:

  • Project manage and deliver requested commodities for AI as requested by Senior Project Manager
  • Create project delivery plans based on customer timings and internal AI availability of resources
  • Provide reports to Senior Project Manager as required
  • Liaise with all functional teams within AI
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers as required to aid delivery of project specifics
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering Manager to ensure changes in engineering processes are carried out as required throughout the Part Submission Warrant.
  • Ensure adherence to company processes. Policies and documentation and maintain the data to support this
  • Manage relevant NPI meetings and component validation including supply of components for DV and PV testing
  • Ensure clear communication with all key stakeholders

Main Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience of AI quality requirements, tools and techniques
  • Positive attitude, able to work on own initiative and lead others
  • Ability to negotiate and to influence decisions both internally and externally
  • Knowledge of formal project management, planning tools and techniques
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at any one time
  • Knowledge of FMEA, PFMEA and APQP
