CH2M are looking for a Senior Consultant to join their Transport Economics/Planning team in our Birmingham office to work on projects within economic appraisal, demand forecasting, cost benefit analysis, and operating cost forecasting.

CH2M has a thriving Transport Planning and Advisory business in the West Midlands, with a huge variety in the work that we deliver, with projects covering Rail, Light Rail, Bus schemes, Cycle schemes and Highways.

CH2M's thriving Transport Planning & Advisory (TP&A) business provides advice to public and private sector organisations in both the UK and overseas. Within this business, we are looking to recruit a Senior Consultant with proven skills in transport economics and forecasting for advisory work. The right individual for this key leadership role will help to develop our business further, working alongside other team members to deliver projects for key clients - including, Department for Transport, Highways England, Financiers and Transport Operators.

We are looking for candidates with strong numeracy skills; with a drive and passion for the technical delivery of projects, and the management of activities involving one or more of the following: economic appraisal, demand forecasting, cost benefit analysis, and operating cost forecasting.

Reporting to the project manager, the successful candidate will play a key part in our delivery teams, principally in:
- Supporting transport appraisal
- Business case development
- Demand and economic forecasts for transport projects
- Developing strategies and plans
- Provision of analytical support to projects including feasibility studies/transport modelling/transport appraisal; and
- Preparation/contribution to technical reports and notes

The minimum qualifications for this position are:
- Experience in transport planning
- Degree qualified in a relevant subject, such as Economics; Mathematics; Statistics or Business related
- Excellent numerical skills are essential
- Strong analytical skills are essential
- Knowledge of appraisal (WEBTAG) and economic assessment

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- an MSc is desirable
