Our client have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Major Gifts & Grants to join their team.

Currently undergoing exciting development and growth with a huge capital investment build of a facility in the Midlands, there is an exciting opportunity for someone to join the charity in a new post to take responsibility for one of their major funding streams. This is a key role for the organisation to enable the success of the capital project opening its doors in 2018 and the ongoing development of the service the facility and wider charity can offer to children and their families.

Head of Major Gifts & Grants -The Role:

Due to the evolving nature of the charity and its service provision, this role will be a combination of strategic planning to maximise all available income streams as well as being hands on in generating further funding via corporate grants, major gifts and capital funding. You will be responsible for recruiting and line managing a small team to support the role.

The role has the possibility of becoming Director of Fundraising dependent on the experience of the candidate.

Head of Major Gifts & Grants -Key Responsibilities:

- Review existing and previous funders to assess potential for further collaboration including planning to develop these relationships.
- Use own knowledge and investigative processes to identify major gift donors and build relationships with them
- Manage and control all data held in relation to grants applications, developing systems to improve turnaround times and success rates
- Assess requirements for funding and be able to provide a sort, medium and long term plan to the Executive Team on how to develop these income streams.

Head of Major Gifts & Grants -Experience Required:

- Income generation experience within major gifts and corporate grants streams. Experience of other fundraising opportunities i.e. government funding, lottery funding, research/medical funding, HNWIs, trusts etc. would be desirable.
- Team leadership skills
- Experience of working in the third sector / charitable organisations
- Ability to travel to meet potential donors as the role requires

The head office for the charity is based in the Midlands along with their state of the art facility. The charity is happy to consider a flexible working arrangement with some home working, although you would be expected to be in Head Office part of the week as diary commitments allow, so would consider applications from candidates whose home location is further afield.
