Manufacturing Manager

My client is a partner in the design, manufacture and qualification of high-performance control solutions and a pioneer in energy management. Their products enhance performance, increased sustainability and competitive advantage.

With a challenging, but realistic plan to grow turnover by 40% over the next 3 years, a Manufacturing Manager is required to join the senior team to contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.

- Responsible for the manufacturing and assembly, quality and H&S on-site, as Manufacturing Manager you will lead the manufacturing function within budget and output targets to meet customer requirements and standards.
- You will have full accountability for ensuring safety, customer quality, cost and delivery requirements being met.
- Responsible for developing an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team by building working relationships ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Manage the team on best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading teams.
- Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
- Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation.

- Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills coupled with strong organisational and follow-up skills.
- Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
- Commercial and Financial acumen

Qualifications and Experience Levels:

- Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred (or equivalent) and supported with manufacturing management experience.
- A working understanding of lean/continuous improvement processes.

Technical understanding

- Understanding of lean manufacturing
- Experience of managing Profit & Loss responsibilities for manufacturing
- Understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain
- IT literate
