Our client, a renowned global engineering contracting group, is currently looking for an experienced and ambitious Buyer/Procurement Manager to join there team of permanent staff working on a large scale joint venture rail project based in their regional office in Birmingham.

The Buyer/Procurement Manager will have had generalised Procurement experience assisting in all aspects of single and 2 stage tender processes and will be required to perform the following tasks and duties;

-Supporting Procurement Leader.
-Experience in production of tender lists for line manager approval.
-Will be able to prepare Invitations to Tender (ITT) including liaising with other members of project teams.
-Maintaining the Procurement Schedule for Weekly update meetings.
-Will have had experience in analysis of tender returns.
-Able to interrogate bids and hold mid and post bid meetings.
-Able to produce recommendations for basic packages.
-Able to produce basic subcontract documents and issuing to Supply Chain.
-Distribution of Orders/Subcontracts for internal sign offs.
-Maintaining registers of orders and requisitions.

Candidates will have the following Qualifications and Experience;
-Qualifications : NVQ Level 4 in Purchasing and Supply. Foundation Diploma in Purchasing and Supply. Advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Supply and/or equivalent experience.
-Experience of Alliance/collaborative working an advantage.
-Experience of Rail/Infrastructure projects.
-Liaising with Suppliers and meeting suppliers at events such as Meet the Buyer an advantage.
