Housing Advice Officer - Warwickshire

Are you seeking the next step in your career? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housing Advice Officer based at Warwick for local council work.

Post: Housing Advice Officer
Hours: 37 hours per week Monday - Friday
Contract: Fixed term until end of December 2017, with possibility for a extended contract

We are looking for a Housing Advice Officer to provide high quality housing advice and assistance in order to discharge the Council's legal obligations to people threatened with or experiencing homelessness and those in housing need.

You should have previous experience of:

  • working in a Customer Services environment
  • interviewing and providing housing advice to vulnerable clients.
  • managing a client case load
  • keeping accurate records

The role requires an understanding of a number of areas of legislations including:

  • Housing Act 1996 (as amended by the Homeless Act 2002)
  • Protection from Eviction Act
  • Children's Act
  • Localism Act

You will need to be computer literate and hold a full UK driving licence; access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential.
