In a nutshell This role is focused on the development of integration technologies at Sainsbury's. The job holder will need to perform analysis and development work using both waterfall and agile development methodologies to deliver the working solutions, which are specified by the Product Owners and Architects. The integration layer developed needs to be aligned to the overall technology roadmap and meet the business needs. In addition to the development work the role may also require 3 rd line support of the integration technologies, including out of hours rotas. What I need to do Undertake the systems analysis, build, test & implementation of system changes as assigned to agreed time, cost and standards to meet the needs of the business working closely with Product Owners and Architects to ensure the business requirements are properly translated. Ensuring all deliverables produced by third parties are completed to an appropriate level of quality so that the delivered solutions are fit for purpose, can be efficiently supported and the impact of future change requests can be assessed Provide the necessary information, estimates, advice and solutions in support of the business objectives so that right solutions are delivered Provide Service Orientated Architecture expertise to enable the development of fully reusable integration services for the consumption of future project and business solutions Ensure analysis and development work undertaken adheres to design principles and components are reused wherever possible Supervise the creation and execution of, test scripts to ensure technical requirements are fully met for any changed implemented into the production environment Ensure all change control procedures are followed and full version control and configuration management is in place to ensure that the production service is not compromised Ensure that all deliverables are completed in a timely manner and to the appropriate level of quality so that the delivered solutions are fit-for purpose, can be efficiently supported and the impact of future change requests can be assessed Contribute to post implementation reviews to incorporate learning's into future work Define and execute or coordinate a continuous improvement schedule for integration services so that business operations can benefit from improved service Ensure procedures and documentation for integration support is created, maintained and the knowledge is shared with other Sainsbury's colleagues or partners involved in the support activity To work collaboratively with delivery teams for the successful transition of projects or changes into operation support. How I will succeed Completion of project(s) that are 'fit for purpose' and delivered within time and budget All system documentation is maintained to required standards High-level estimates provided are consistently sufficiently accurate for planning purposes Detailed estimates are consistently in line with final costs System changes handed over to support are sufficiently stable to not affect system Key Performance Indicators System service is performing to Key Performance Indicators Service Orientated Architecture developments are built in line with principles and standards defined by the CTO What I need to know How to deliver developments (systems analysis, design, build, test) throughout the project lifecycle and hand over to support, with specific experience in ETL integration components using the Abintio toolset Experience of ETL based integration (ideally with expertise in Abinitio toolset) and how it supports specific business functions and provides commercial benefits Data analysis with proven analytical skills, having experience with modelling techniques, e.g. UML. Information gathering methods, tools and techniques which are appropriate to the information required and the sources available. Examples: contextual enquiries, focus groups, structured interviews, questionnaires, observation, statistical analysis What I need to show Familiarity with existing business processes and commercial understanding of the business areas related to relevant systems and technologies Familiarity with the organisation's infrastructure and software development and maintenance methods, tools and techniques An awareness of the uses of technology within the retail industry and IT integration trends The ability to estimate costs for digital and technology components Proactively taking responsibility, owning any issues arising and following through to resolve them (get the required result) How individual responsibility impacts team delivery and inspires others to do the same Working collaboratively with a range of people to support the wider business agenda How to focus on the most critical / impactful task to hand using all resources efficiently and effectively How to take advantage of every opportunity to communicate relevant information remaining mindful of the audience (e.g. translates complex/technical issues to meet the audience's competency level) Resources available to me Product Owners and Integration Analysts for guidance on design Principle Integration Engineers for technical expertise Integration Engineering Manager for escalation of issues What decisions I can make Recommendation of systems fixes, minor enhancements and development work packages of significant Digital and Technology changes or new systems *LI-RM1
