A patient centred mental health Trust with a focus on quality and efficiency, our client has recently been nationally recognised for its pioneering work in the field of costing and the new Financial Controller would need to share the team's appetite for success by leading and sharing best practice across the NHS

As an integral member of the finance departments senior leadership team you will work closely with the Deputy Director of Finance and Assistant Director of Finance and manage the Financial Accounting team with a particular focus on staff training and development. In addition to your corporate responsibility of delivering the Trust's Transformation Programme by enabling the intelligent deployment of trust resources your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage the Financial Accounting Team, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Capital and Treasury and Accounting systems
  • Prepare Annual Statutory Accounts for the Trust and for Charitable Funds
  • Maintain and develop comprehensive weekly, monthly and annual cashflow forecasts
  • Advising on compliance with standing financial instructions and the scheme of delegation
  • Maintain and further develop fixed asset management systems and provide information for management decision making and accounts preparation
  • Production of monthly reports for Senior Manager sand the Board of Trustees
  • Support the development of a strategy for Corporate Governance
  • Manage the ledger hierarchy in line with material chart of accounts
  • Liaise with the Trust's Internal and External Auditors

A CCAB Qualified Accountant you will have previous experience of planning and leading the completion of a large organisations statutory final accounts, have highly developed staff leadership skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to interpret and communicate complex information at a senior level and influence key business decision making through persuasive skills. Lean thinking, you can envisage and deliver improvements to the delivery of financial services and relish the challenge of working with a patient focused, commercially aware executive team.
