An exciting opportunity has arisen to manage a two-year knowledge transfer project with Loughborough University and Galliford Try Infrastructure to support the delivery of successful project outcomes. Working as part of Galliford Try Infrastructure’s new Innovation Team and reporting to the R&D Manager, the successful candidate will identify process and technology change aimed at improving the performance of construction projects.
The successful candidate will work on a 24 month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project to support Galliford Try to embed and build capacity amongst company employees for innovative technologies and processes to reduce project failure and enhance construction project delivery.

The KTP associate will:
- Develop a detailed understanding of the nature and reasons for project success and failure at Galliford Try and establish/collate benchmarking data
- Conduct an innovation review and examine current innovative approaches to improving project performance across the wider built environment sector, assessing their suitability to Galliford Try Infrastructure
- Design, plan and implement new processes/innovations/technologies at Galliford Try
- Produce reports, training documentation and methodologies to translate the innovations to ‘business as usual’
Job duties
- Undertake company induction and KTP training and development
- Undertake research into the nature and reasons for construction project success and failure
- Systematically review company performance and the impact of innovation on project outcomes
- Develop, refine and implement innovation processes and technologies across different projects and business units
- Evaluate the performance benefits of specific innovations and devise a strategy for further exploiting them across other projects and business units in order to improve company performance
- Write research and dDevelopment reports, and present these at the local management committee meetings, as well as at national and international conferences and symposia with other members of the project team
- Prepare research papers for publication in prestigious scientific journals, in line with the expected activities of University Research Staff, but in accordance to the commercial sensitivity of collaborating company
- Represent Galliford Try Infrastructure including in meetings with clients, supply chain partners and external bodies
