IT Project Manager - Law firm - Birmingham

The purpose of the role is to manage and deliver IT projects on behalf of the firm.

This will involve preparing reports and documents, drawing up estimates, collating work programmes, allocating key staff to project deliverables, overseeing deadlines and ensuring documents are created on time by each team member. In addition, you will have full ownership of engineering plans, finances and change control and you will have regular liaison and communication between partners, stakeholders, team leaders and 3rd party clients ensuring everyone is kept abreast of the time-scales.

The role is a business-facing role as opposed to a highly technical PM so you will need the capability to be the face of the firm when dealing with stakeholders and external clients

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, Prince 2 or Agile or a similar project management qualification would be desirable.

Your background will include previous Business Analysis training coupled with outstanding problem solving, system design and the ability to work in a pressurised environment. This role would suit someone with excellent trouble-shooting and resolution skills who can also make snap decisions under pressure.

Previous experience working either in a law firm or other professional services would be an advantage.
