My client, a huge multi-national organisation with worldwide brand recognition, are looking to recruit a transport administrator for their Transport Operations office in Minworth, Birmingham. This role is likely to suit someone who is keen to work days in a transport office environment.

The job is based on flexible pattern, covering 24 hours a day, and as such you would ideally have your own transport (though there is one bus that serves reasonably locally).

The successful Transport Administrator will:
  • Support the work of the transport office to ensure client service level agreements are met.
  • Provide Transport Operators with support for their duties, such as accurately inputting and progressing data within in-house computer systems to ensure real-time information is available re all planned loads and deliveries.
  • Support with debrief of drivers.
  • Provide admin support re trailer reporting on a daily basis.
  • Support the Planning and Customer Services teams with enquiries.
  • Conduct admin re vehicle defects and maintenance.

The successful Transport Administrator will have the following skills and experience:
  • Solid admin skills.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Experience of working on a team and ability to work alone, unsupervised.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Be self-motivated.
  • Computer skills.
  • Great communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Flexibility with regards to working weekends, bank holidays and shifts, due to the 24/7 nature of the business.

Experience from a transport administration environment is desirable but not essential.
