I am currently looking for a Launch Manager to join a large automotive tier 1 supplier.

Overall Purpose / Scope of Position:

- To ensure all manufacturing processes within the plant are robust, capable and reliable and continuous improvement activity on existing production within the plant.

Key Objectives:

- Apply the global product launch process to all product launches including inputs, timelines and key deliverables from cross-functional partners, managing multiple launches at the same time
- Understand the scope and operational requirements and impacts of all cross functional teams for each launch
- Work with the team to develop training and any additional materials and information necessary to aid the Quality, Production, Logistics, Engineering, Maintenance, and Sales/Finance teams
- Provide a liaison between Projects and plant, management of timing plans and project deliverables in order to achieve predetermined milestones
- Maintain a calendar of future launches, communicating and educating launch process to the operational stakeholders
- Coordinate regular launch team meetings, publishing notes/minutes and actions to team stakeholders
- Assist in the attainment of product revenue growth and attachment during the initial post-launch period through the development and implementation of process improvements
- Lead and assist in any problem solving activities, including but not limited to design verification and feasibility studies
- Identify risks, opportunities and process improvements within launch execution
- Lead all Plant based program phases and gate review activities
- Communicate all Engineering Changes in line with internal change management system
- Control of part pedigree in order to minimise scrap impact and material obsolescence cost
- Communicate with relevant parties to establish timelines and expectations
- Coordination (daily supervision) of prject labour to produce advance product builds on multiple programs
- Validation and approval of EDI systems for every new programme
- Support Engineering trial runs on tooling, equipment, and / or products.
- Validate engineering documentation (Process Flows, PFMEA's Control Plans) are ready and match appropriate phase of the program
- Development and identification of project requirements with management of the operating program inputs: project planning, logistics, operations management and financial performance
- Assist, critique, and approve JES instructions with training coordinators and Business Unit Manager & Shift Manager buy-in
- Management and communication of customer's product quality, on-time delivery, configuration and inventory requirements
- To prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports required by customer and internal stakeholder
- Management of internal MPTs, with full ownership of PFUs and mass production readiness status
- Recommendations of continuous improvements on new program launches
- Adhere to and ensure compliance with internal Quality System, work instructions, drawings and ISO/TS requirements
- Establish and manage budget for all approved projects and responsibility for regularly communicating budget compliance
- Drive the implementation and production approval of new plant and equipment and/or production tooling into the production environment
- Responsible for generating all required paperwork associated with plant and equipment and/or production tooling projects and getting it approved to company ISO/TS and quality standards (assets register)

Qualifications / Educational requirements:

- Good level of numeracy and written English writing skills

Experience:

- Automotive Industry experience
- Problem solving
- Minimum 5 years related experience in automotive / manufacturing project/programme management environment
- Proven programme management experience
