Experian's Global Software Group is looking for an experienced QA Engineer or QA Test Analyst to join our agile software engineering team based in Rugby. The identity and payments team consists of a team of about a two dozen software development and QA engineers working on a range of identity and payment products and is split across three sites.The Development Centre is part of Decision Analytics' Global Software Group which has offices in Bulgaria, Monaco, Malaysia and the United States, as well as in Nottingham, London, Southport, and Rugby in the UK.This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a dynamic and ambitious software development team within the Decision Analytics Global Software Group (DA-GSG).
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on best-in-class identity and payments software products and to become a central player in the future development of our products and processes.

Role Description
The successful candidate will be expected to perform all types of testing, including:
  • White Box
  • Black Box
  • Integration
  • Performance
  • UI
  • Automation
The candidate will also be expected to produce test plans and test scripts, both manual and automated. They will also work with the other testers to design, develop and maintain the automation framework.
The software development team follow an agile development process involving close collaboration with other teams within Experian Decision Analytics and elsewhere within the business. Team members are also expected to take ownership of the software testing process, working together to identify any issues, process improvements and then work with the team to plan and implement the improvements.

Skills and Qualifications:
As the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the on-going testing of software running on a wide variety of platforms, a flexible, pragmatic, adaptable approach and the ability to learn new skills quickly are essential. The developers and QA Engineers are one team and members are expected to take ownership of problems, driving forward solutions both on an individual basis and while working together as a team; a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work collaboratively are therefore also required.
Candidates that do not have previous automation skills and experience will be considered but must demonstrate a passion for automation.

Mandatory Skills
  • Ability to interact with developers to identify and resolve bugs.
  • Excellent problem analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution skills.
  • Ability to review project technical documents and provide input as required.
  • Ability to be flexible in project work and multi-task responsibilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows platform.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.

Desirable skills:
  • SoapUI skills
  • Selenium IDE skills
  • QF Test skills
  • Good understanding of Log4J
  • Experience with open source automation framework
  • Experience of Java application servers, such as Tomcat

It is expected that candidates will be educated to degree level or will be able to demonstrate an equivalent general level of understanding of computing and software development.
