Teaching Assistant –Psychology Graduate – Primary School – October Start 2017

Would you like to gain some classroom based experience, working in a large primary school, prior to applying for an Educational Psychology Doctorate?

***£55 to £60 per day

This role is for a SEN graduate Teaching Assistant, working with and supporting the school’s SENCO. The role is full time, 5 days a week for the duration on the school year and is due commence at the start of October

The school can be found to the south east of Birmingham – close to Solihull - within a vibrant and multicultural community. The school are currently going through a focused program of improvement and the successful Teaching Assistant will support pupils with special educational needs predominantly in the fields of English and Mathematics, so candidates must have high levels of literacy and numeracy.

The role will provide you with a variety of responsibilities and could involve working with small groups or on a more 1-2-1 basis as required. Candidates must be able to form strong working relationships with both students and the class teachers. Candidates need to be extremely flexible, organised with the ability to use their initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do next. They need to be committed to a career in education and want to fully immerse themselves in school life, thus maximising the benefit to the pupils and at the same time their own experience.

The school currently supports NQT’s and other student teachers throughout the year and provides candidates with an ideal opportunity to get an insight into the teaching profession, its requirements, demands and rewards, prior to embarking on their own teaching educational psychology career.
