This person will assist in creating and delivering multi-channel campaigns to engage with key audiences in line with the organisations priorities. The role will also include a strong focus on developing digital communications as part of campaigns and public engagement.

  • To plan and develop films and images including editing to support a wide variety of publicity
  • To plan, design and develop communications materials and products including copy-writing, proof reading, liaising with printers and designers, etc
  • Plan and develop targeted digital media activities as appropriate to support events and campaigns
  • Develop innovative and creative ideas that can be shared with other partners
  • To generate positive engagement through planned activities/strategies using social media, social media advertising and email marketing
  • To manage the digital elements of fully integrated PR campaigns and understanding the required mix of online and offline communications
  • To support with media liaison where necessary, involving writing press releases and statements
  • Deputise as team manager for the head of comms as appropriate
  • Manage websites
  • Working as part of a team to work within agreed objectives in delivery of public engagement events and integrated campaigns which support key priorities
  • Digital content/management including
  • Update and load material onto website
  • Initiate and deliver social media activity and content, primarily for twitter on a daily basis and for certain projects
  • Design and deliver comms collateral such as leaflets and pull-up banners for events
  • Have ability to take decent quality photographs for use on social and traditional media
  • Have ability to direct and film short videos for use on social media/website
  • Ability to draft and distribute electronic updates/newsletters (using Adestra)


  • Demonstrable experience of delivering and evaluating successful communications campaigns under pressure within deadlines
  • A minimum of 3 years' work experience in a communications environment
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering fully integrated communications including digital and film
  • Understanding of current affairs and political issues - good judgement and political nous
  • Designing, delivering and evaluating communications campaigns and promotions
  • Demonstrable experience in co-ordinating digital media, social media advertising and email marketing with PR activities/strategies, including scoping and managing digital requirements, generating positive engagement
  • Experience and working knowledge of managing websites using Content Management Systems, including content and user management

Job Offer

£30,000 to £35,000

3 month contract with possible exension
