Regional Fleet Engineer
Location: North of England
Financial Package: £45,000 - £50,000 basic salary + 10% managers bonus, company vehicle allowance, contributory pension.

My client, a large prestigious commercial vehicle operator is looking to recruit an experienced Regional Fleet Engineer to focus on their Northern region. To manage the entire engineering and supplier maintenance cycle in regards to workshops, maintenance, costs and quality standards in line with company, legislative and budgetary parameters.

Key Accountabilities:

- To supervise the management of all workshops in the Northern region currently comprising of Central Midlands, Oldbury, Warrington and Bellsill – with weekly site visits expected.
- Taking responsibility for; site maintenance, Health and Safety, People Management, Budgets and Coaching & Supporting the Operations Managers.
- To manage all repairing dealers including negotiation of terms, quality assessment, KPI’s and RDA’s such that they deliver a best in class service.
- To ensure that the branches operate to agreed company, LRQA, operating and statutory maintenance requirements and standards.
- To identify and propose the set-up of new or alternative repairing dealers as and when required.
- To reduce the number of repairing dealers to ensure that economic scale and leverage is achieved whilst maintaining effective geographic coverage.
- To identify repairers whose performance is adverse, and to implement and manage the corrective measures.
- To liaise with colleagues and stakeholders in establishing optimum repairer coverage.
- To ensure that all warranty and policy/goodwill claims are raised and pursued to completion.
- To provide technical appraisal of vehicles and component failures as required.
- To work as part of the Regional Engineering team, and liaise with branch colleagues as and when required to ensure that the business offers the best service and value proposition to the customer.
- To identify areas for continual improvement (efficiency/ cost saving/ HSE/ Training) and develop solutions to deliver such.
- Providing support to fellow REM’s as and when required.
- To participate in any Engineering projects as necessary.

To be successful in this role you will need to be/have:

- Managerial experience gained in a regional role
- Time Served HGV Technician, ideally with an advanced HGV qualification
- Excellent standard of general education
- Proven experience of budgetary cost management
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to achieve “buy in” from internal and external customers and influence effectively.
- Proven experience to manage suppliers to agreed KPI’s – Auditing experience preferable
- Flexible attitude
- Able to prioritise numerous projects/ workload etc
- Good standard of Computer literacy (Excel/Word)
- HGV Licence and National CPC would be advantageous

The hours of work for this Regional Fleet Engineer role are 8:30am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday.
The successful applicant will receive a salary of £45,000 - £50,000 basic salary + 10% managers bonus, company vehicle or allowance, contributory pension.
