MPI have a requirement for Auto Electricians to work in Walsall, West Midlands

  • One role J18065/FG4582 to work in the Bodybuild Department
  • Other role J18066/FG4584 to work in the Plating Department (For this role you must have 12 volts Auto Electrician experience)

Candidates to have their own tools - ASAP start, min 13 weeks assignment, may lead to perm.

Approx 40 hours per week.

Pay Rate: GBP11.00 - GBP13.00 per hour PAYE dependant upon experience/skill set.

As an Auto Electrician you will be able to fit and repair electrical and electronic systems in motor vehicles. As our vehicles are more advanced, the electronics in them are more enhanced than the average car. Ideally you will need good practical skills. You will also need to be able to read electrical wiring plans.


  • Vehicle Preparation and fitting of the electronics equipment
  • Checking and testing of the wiring and vehicle parts
  • Fault finding and rectification work
  • Retesting the system to make sure everything is working correctly and safely

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience of Installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems in vehicles
  • Checking and testing of the wiring and vehicle parts
  • Fault finding and rectification work
  • Knowledge and experience of electronic systems such as:

Electronic ignitions, alarms immobilisers and tracking devices.

Electric windows, mirrors, seats tow bar electrics and air-conditioning.

Customised LED or neon lighting kits, parking warning systems and reverse cameras

  • Ability to build looms would be advantageous
  • Ability to strip and reassemble vehicles would be desirable
  • Demonstrable experience would be considered.
  • Knowledge of split charge systems
  • Knowledge of radio installation would be desirable

40 hours basic worked between:

Monday to Thursday 8am - 5pm

Friday 8am - 2pm
