Our client is recruiting a Financial Planning Technician to join their Technical Team, who will be reporting directly to the Technical Director.
The objective of this role is to provide support, protection and reports for the company through the delivery of added value advice and guidance, high quality research, accurate tax and other computations and comprehensive pre and post financial planning reports, all designed to deliver understandable, financial outcomes for our clients.
Participate in and deliver comprehensive financial research on products and investments on an independent basis using Defaqto and other research tools.
Design and deliver understandable and concise Financial Planning Report templates for use across the range of products and service providers, both personal and corporate, in order to deliver understandable and suitable financial outcomes to our clients.
Take on and deliver, with minimum supervision, tax calculations and other complex calculations including carry forward and lifetime allowance.
Request, prepare and interpret complex pension information with a view to complete analysis for pension switching and occupational pension transfers.
Knowledge and technical understanding of the financial planning issues surrounding: Inheritance Tax Planning, Retirement Planning, Retirement Options and other financial planning concepts.
Prepare complex financial planning reports with multiple subjects from a brief provided by Consultants and senior members of the team.
Have the ability to communicate coherently with IFA's and clients on complex financial planning issues.
Responsible for own continued professional development in financial services, products and legislative issues through formal and informal learning.
Research and review new and existing legislations and technical/product information.
The ideal candidate will possess or be close to possessing a Diploma in Financial Planning with commitment to progress. You will need a developed knowledge and interest in the concepts and requirements of personal and corporate financial planning. Experience in the support of IFA's and other advisers, and in particular in the preparation and delivery of research and suitability reports is advantageous. Excellent written, numerical and communication skills are essential to the role along with an aptitude in Word and Excel, knowledge of Defaqto and other research systems and experience of using Avelo and/ or Intelliflo CRM systems.
