Reporting to the Assistant Manager Finance Systems & Controls the purpose of this role is to provide a robust control framework for fraud prevention and Revenue loss across multiple sales channels including Web, Contact Centre, Retail and Overseas. Adopting key processes to react to fraudulent behaviour and mitigate risk of revenue leakage across the business.

What you will be doing

You will be responsible on a daily basis for various financial control activities across our booking system Landscape such as reacting to reporting of unpaid/overpaid holiday balances, pricing/discounting errors, EOD banking errors, website payment failures and the management of a Fraud screening portal to track all transactions passing through the mainstream TUI UK website platforms. You will make informed decisions on how to deal with each incident in order to protect the business from losses and use these instances to protect the business from future examples of such threat.

As Financial Control Advisor you will adopt a strict process driven attitude to your duties, following all internal/external audit controls, COSO controls and department controls. You will set the tone for other colleagues to be diligent and aware of the risks of fraud and financial loss across all sales channels. You will spot trends and recommend changes to the web fraud rules to prevent further activity occurring and to keep up with the ever changing fraud industry. Working with Corporate Security you will assist in investigations either from DPA requests or as a result of intelligence provided to combat threat to the UK Business.

You will be responsible for day to day reconciliation of sales vs customer payments across multiple sales channels and locations, identifying discrepancies, resolving them and feeding back commentary to the business areas concerned. You will track the usage of promotions and discounts to ensure booking management is robust and not the cause of financial loss. The role provides a number of solutions to exceptional scenarios such as complex refunds, Medical related cancellations and website payment failures which all require specialist activities to be performed within the selling systems/payments systems which fall outside of the standard Retail/Contact Centre processes, these processes require a keen eye for detail and a diligent approach to ensure they are dealt with appropriately.

This role will play a key part in the design and planning of operational processes to support these initiatives and provide guidance and insight into the risks and issues the finance community need to consider for such enhancements to ensure that control mechanisms are in place from the outset.

What we are looking for
  • Experience of fraud management/prevention and resolving chargeback disputes.
  • Experience of following financial controls focussed on customer payments and selling systems.
  • Excellent communication skills across multiple levels of stakeholder.
  • Excellent problem solving and organisation skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines unshakeable belief in own abilities.
  • Strong analytical approach and tenacious attitude to problem solving.
  • Immaculate attention to detail.
