Do you have extensive product development experience within Buying? Are you looking for a new role where you can put your creative, trend spotting and organisational skills to test?

This is a brilliant opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join a business which has a vast customer base and a very exciting future!

Our client will look at candidates from a Retail background or a Supplier background, but preferably from the Supplier side. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is extremely passionate about the products they are working with. It's a friendly working environment at this business, so it's a great time to join as a Buyer/Product Developer.

Skills & Experience required for this Buyer/Product Developer role:

  • Currently working as a Buyer/Product Developer

  • Experience in Far East sourcing and negotiating with suppliers

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to plan and organise your workload effectively

  • A keen eye for product and a natural talent for spotting opportunities and current market trends

What does Buyer/Product Developer role involve?

  • Taking full responsibility for developing products within your category

  • Range building, new product development and managing of a product area

  • Liaising directly with factories to develop the product range from concept through to delivery at the right price point and quality standard

  • Briefing designers on new concepts and ranges based on current and future trends you have spotted

  • Category management of existing ranges

  • Travelling around the UK, Europe and the Far east

Based in Birmingham, this Buyer/Product Developer role offers a salary of up to £50,000 plus a great package!
