Store Manager - The Great Big Charity Superstore Northampton We are looking for a passionate, customer service focused retail professional who has the ability to lead a team of staff and volunteers to deliver great results. In the heart of the Northampton town centre, The Salvation Army's 'Great Big Charity Superstore' is the largest charity shop in the UK, with furniture and clothing departments, a cafe and a Salvation Army meeting place Salvation Army Trading Company is the trading arm of the Salvation Army. It's retail, recycling and re-use operations raise money for the charity. Funding The Salvation Army's valuable work throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland - including homelessness and addiction services, care for older people, help at emergency incidents, support for adult victims of human trafficking in England and Wales and a Family Tracing Service. The Role It is a busy, dynamic role that changes every day. Responsibilities are varied, ranging from ensuring high levels of customer service to securing product from donors. Supporting you in this will be Team Leaders responsible for the Cafe, Sales, Volunteers and Product as well as Sales Assistants, Drivers and Volunteers. The role includes the development and management of close working partnerships with Salvation Army corps (churches) and regional SA leadership. An understanding of the organisation's ethics is essential in safeguarding the reputation of The Salvation Army. Essential Skills The candidate will have A commercial understanding of retail industry The ability to identify opportunities to drive sales. Ability to think strategically and prioritise time and resources Experience of managing employees and volunteers A passion for customer service and the ability to motivate and build a strong team of paid staff and volunteers is essential.
