Working for a Systems Integration company based in Staffordshire, the successful Engineer will be responsible for delivery of Automation Services working with leading edge PLC controlled automation systems for a wide and varied client base both in the UK and Europe.

Typically, you will be responsible for providing front line service support for a wide range of industry sectors. Based within the service department, you can expect day to day activities to include the following:

* Planned service work - small system modifications, site surveys, control system health checks
* Customer support and breakdown call-outs
* Site installation, testing, commissioning of PLC Control/Drive systems and on-going system support
* Involvement in projects - depending on service/support commitments
* In-house training to extend skills
* Mentoring Junior Engineers
* Continuous improvement processes

To be considered for this role we are seeking applicants with solid background of the integration of control & automation systems with knowledge of legacy control systems and a confident ability to handle the latest control & automation products and systems. You will:

* Have the ability to fault find in difficut situations - unfamiliar systems, processes and industries
* Knowedge of using two or more PLC systems i.e. Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, Modicon - as a minimum you will be able to fault find, diagnose and carry out small modifications
* Ability to understand control system schematics, electrical requirements, architecture and panel layouts
* Understanding of communication networks eg EtherNet, ProfiBus, DeviceNet etc
* You must also be prepared to partake in a 24/7 on call rota based on a 3 week rotation - associated allowances and bonuses will be paid

You can expect a competitive base salary commensurate with experience along with paid overtime and expenses. 3% of salary contribution to company sponsored or existing pension scheme, 22 days holiday (rising to 25 with service), company car or use of own car with tax-free mileage.
