Health and Social Care Teacher
Immediate start, intervention and teach team role, central location, Ofsted 'Good' paid to scale, part time.
Hays Education are delighted to be working on behalf of an Ofsted 'Good' Birmingham secondary school in Edgbaston to recruit for temporary, part time Health and Social Care teacher to start in immediately. This is a part time teaching role, two to three days a week for the remainder of the academic year.
Your new School
This Academy is fully committed to the safety and have a strong working partnership with the West Midlands Police to help prevent crime and anti-social behaviour. The Headmaster of the school is highly regarded and the Academy has a historical presence within the area. The senior leadership team work successfully to improve the academy and the students are achieving well within the school. The academy provided high quality care and support for all their pupils. Carefully planned courses of study help their students to be well prepared to move on in the next steps of their education. Visits to the school are welcomed prior to beginning the role and having visited the school myself the behaviour I witnessed was of an overall good level. The school itself is extremely multi-cultural having high levels of EAL with a wide range of languages.
Your new Role
In your new secondary teaching job you will be expected to work alongside the current teacher in a team teach relationship. This role will also include intervention responsibilities. You will assist in delivering lessons that will engage pupils and you will need to have the natural ability to deliver them with confidence and enthusiasm. You will need to be experienced teaching up to KS5 and be familiar with the current curriculum. Due to the nature of the role it is offered as a 'paid to scale' post (MPS/UPS). The role is offered on a temporary basis until the end of the academic year. This role is not suitable for NQTs.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your new teaching job you will have completed your studies and hold UK QTS. You will be an experienced, Health and Social Care teacher that is passionate about student progress and is committed to helping pupils to achieve their academic potential. The ideal candidate would have been in a long term or permanent teaching role and will be able to supply Hays with outstanding references from the previous employer.
