The Learning Support Centre is looking for Electronic Note takers in the Birmingham area to join our team.

We are a vibrant company that is empowered by its people. We provide support to disabled people and people with learning differences in education and the workplace and we are passionate about delivering quality support solutions.

Overall purpose of the role:

To provide academic support to students with disabilities in Higher and Further Education. This will involve electronically taking notes in lectures, seminars and tutorials. The student may also need mobility support, orientation, sighted assistance and access support on and around campus. If this is the case, it will be part of your role to provide this support. Under no circumstances is it your role to provide personal care for your student; your role is purely academic.

Key requirements:

  • Experience in studying or working in a Higher or Further Education setting
  • Experience in supporting disabled people or people with specific learning differences in education and/or in the workplace
  • Maths and English GCSE C Grade or above
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Typing speed of 45 wpm or above
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to learn new assistive software and hardware
  • Experience in using computer software and hardware
  • Accredited training will be provided
Location: Birmingham area, B1

Contract type: Flexible, term time only

Rate of Pay: £15 per hour
