We are looking to appoint an F&A Director to join a busy team in Hook. The role will report into the MD Serco Business Services and CFO.
- Form part of the Finance and Serco Business Services (SBS) leadership team.
Oversee the performance and quality of service delivery of the outsourced and offshored CoE/SBS, working collaboratively with the BPO partner.
Ensure the shared finance transformation agenda is delivered, working closely with Serco business units and key stakeholders to effectively implement the enabling onshore changes required.
Maintain best in class governance arrangements, delivering an open, transparent relationship with the BPO Partner and working collaboratively to resolve operational issues while ensuring a focus on the strategic agenda.
Ensure that internal customers receive an effective and efficient service, delivers accurate, right first time reporting and analysis which is insightful, timely and supports the business to develop accurate plans in a strong controls and assurance environment.
Delivers seamless transaction processing activities across P2P and O2C.
Ensure business customers work collaboratively with the BPO partner, enabling effective working relationships and enabling the provision of high quality off-shored reporting support.
The role is key to deliver the Finance vision of a “high performing finance function recognised by industry, the profession and our people” which underpins the Serco vision of being “the best run business in our sector” as “a superb provider of public services”.

Essential skills and experience:
- Qualified accountant, extensive post qualification experience, critically in a shared services leadership role or deep finance operational leadership experience. preferably within a similar operating model, size of organisation and sector.
Finance Transformation and programme delivery experience.
Experience of delivering effective partnering with the newly appointed BPO provider or a similar Tier 1 provider critical.
Skilled and effective change leader, able to work positively with senior stakeholders to drive change.
Possess clear leadership capabilities with a strong sense of personal gravitas.
Deep analytical skills.
Customer centric: commercially minded, strategic, committed to delivering high quality service Proactive individual with the ability to both operate strategically and tactically and able to effectively manage multiple challenges whilst maintaining high quality throughout.
Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
Experience of leading and developing teams.
SAP experience desirable.
Credible experience of effectively utilising operational metrics to track and drive performance and quality in a consistent manner.
Experience of leading financial reporting and planning via a shared services operating model including an offshored and outsourced element, for a large global business with a defined governance structure.
Experience of delivering change in culturally challenging and matrix environment.
Proven capability to step change quality and delivery of financial operations through continuous improvement.
