SEMH (EBD) Teacher
Seeking an effective teacher to teach KS2 pupils with social emotional mental health (SEBD)

Hays is working with a Birmingham based SEN School that supports primary aged pupils with special educational needs. They are small closely knit team who have strong focus on supporting each other, the school is well established and well resourced.
Your new role
This is a full time teaching job, due to start immediately and is expected to last for the academic year.
This job role will involve teaching a small class of 8-10 pupils who are working at different learning levels with 'social emotional mental health' SEMH (Social Emotional behavioural difficulties). Therefore this job requires someone with the ability to assess learning, plan and differentiate work to ensure all pupils access and engage in a program of learning. Other aspects will be delegating and working with TA staff, managing challenging behaviour, boosting participation levels and to bring about progress in learning.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an observant, attentive teacher, with excellent communication and behaviour management skills. You will have QTS and Ideally be team teach (restraint) trained, You should be thick skinned, light hearted and possess an empathy of the emotional complexities of the pupils you work with. You will be passionate, patient and consistent in your approach to bring about pupil progress. You must be primary trained or have recent Primary experience.
You must have at least 40 days experience in schools within the last 2 years that can be referenced. For this job you must also have a Valid DBS on the update service or be able to pass an Enhanced DBS check
