Assistant Production Planner

The Role:

The successful candidate will assist in developing production plans based on customer requirements. They will be based at Stoke-on-Trent and their duties will include:

•Working closely with the Customer Service, Production and Logistics departments to ensure customer requirements and demands are met in a timely and efficient manner

•Supplying the Production department with manufacturing plans and Works Orders that meet customer requirements and ensure the necessary labour, materials and capacity are available to meet demands

•Reviewing and monitoring work schedules and capacity planning systems to identify capacity constraints and bottlenecks

•Resolving issues in a timely manner to prevent delays in the shipment of goods to customers

•Maintaining a workable, but minimal, inventory stock level of raw materials and finished goods in line with supplier lead times

The Applicant:

Candidates will have experience of working in a similar role within a fast paced manufacturing environment and will possess the following skills and competencies:

•A good standard of basic education with English and Mathematics Grade C or above at GCSE level, or equivalent

•An in-depth knowledge of general manufacturing processes

•A willingness to travel across all sites is essential and candidates must be technically advanced, fully proficient in MS Office and will have previous experience of using an ERP/MRP system

•Candidates who are mathematically and statistically inclined, and are able to demonstrate keen problem solving skills and an understanding of business operations, will be preferred

•Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential and the successful candidate will also be able to manage complexity, be action oriented, resilient and resourceful
