Overview of the NPI Quality Engineer post


The postholder will be responsible for New Product Introduction and modification supporting stamping & assembly regarding Quality Documentation.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities of the NPI Quality Engineer post


Preparation of customer APQP and PPAP engineering documentsCreate FMEA's, Control Plans and internal documentation
Create and obtain approval for measurement gauge concept with customerProvide timing for quality milestones and activities for Project timing plan
MSA studies on CMM fixtures and gauges Statistical analysis of measurements results from capability studies.
Buy-off criteria for the fixtures and gauges from supplierProvide timing for quality milestones and activities for Project timing plan
Ensure all fixtures and gauges are entered onto the Calibration systemEscalate issues that could potentially undermine the program
Component buy-off at tool makers Ensuring Quality milestones are achieved
Communication and Presentations, directly with Customers and internal Managing Non Conformances (AIMS etc) and implementing procedures and tools including NCR's and 8D's.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience necessary of the NPI Quality Engineer post

These should include:


Proven background in successful application of QA techniques supported by excellent problem solving skills.
Current driving license, as travel to customers and suppliers will be required as and when necessary. Prepared for periods away from home at domestic and foreign customers and suppliers.
Have a valid passport (with minimum six months remaining).

Experience;


Customer Liaison.
Presswork / Tooling / Assembly.
NPI Projects for OEMS.
A proven background of Quality knowledge combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
BIW / Chassis / Structural Assemblies.

Qualifications;


HNC in Manufacturing or Engineering
Quality Assurance Qualification


Hours/Shifts

39 hours basic. Monday - Friday.
