Animal Care Worker
Our client, based in Birmingham, is recruiting for an Animal Care Assistant. This is a fantastic entry level opportunity for an applicants to get into the animal care industry.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing care to all animals that visit the practise, undertaking activities such as feeding, watering, sanitising, kennel cleaning and observing the health and wellness of the animals.
This is a full time position, with comprising of 40 hours (35 working hours, 1 hour unpaid lunch)
The ideal must possess a secondary education as a bare minimum. Previous experience in animal care is desirable but not required.
Must be able to assume responsibility, work independently, without close supervision, and cooperatively with other animal care technicians. Must be able to carefully follow set by the Animal Welfare Act.
Must have above average manual strength, stand on feet for extended periods of time, be able to lift 20 kg, bend or squat routinely, and work with arms above shoulder level.
Due to the busy working environment in the practise, The successful candidate must be able to work independently and work without close supervision. To be effective in this role, applicants must be able to follow internal health and safety procedures, and adhere to all animal safety guidelines.
Applicants must also have the ability to stand for long periods of time, work with arms above shoulder level, able be to carry medium sized animals with two hands (20kg)
£17,000 per annum
