Position: Stroke Information Services Assistant Manager

About the role:

They are looking for an Assistant Manager to join the Stroke Information Service to deliver their exciting new growth strategy.

Based in Bromsgrove and reporting to the Head of the Stroke Information Service, you will provide leadership and operational management to their team of helpline information officers, ensuring they maintain a consistently high quality service as they develop in line with their corporate strategic ambitions.

You will also provide information and support to people affected by stroke. This includes stroke survivors and their families, carers, professionals and members of the public who make enquiries by telephone, letter and email and, on occasion, in person. You will work closely with the rest of the Stroke Information Service team in Bromsgrove to deliver the national stroke helpline and information service, and with colleagues across the organisation to fulfil their corporate strategy.

About you:

The Stroke Information Services Assistant Manager will have experience of managing staff in a fast-paced service delivery environment. You will have demonstrable experience of providing high quality support and information to others, ideally in a helpline setting.

Excellent listening skills, the ability to provide empathy and to deal with callers who may be distressed or angry while remaining emotionally resilient is essential.

You will be able to work effectively as part of a team, sharing information, knowledge and insight to ensure delivery of a high quality service that supports their position as the leading UK stroke charity.
