Macildowie are pleased to be partnering with a growing business based in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, to showcase their latest recruitment campaign within their Finance team.

Recruiting for a newly created position during a period of significant growth, this commercially focused role will report to the Senior Finance Manager and will have company wide exposure as well as engagement with multi-stakeholders on a day to day basis.

The Finance Analyst job will support the Finance, Sales, Marketing and Procurement teams by providing ongoing performance analysis and insights.

The Finance team plays an active role in leading and supporting the company in achieving its business objectives and targets by working closely with key stakeholders to drive improvements to operational and financial processes on a day to day basis. With a healthy headcount of 143 and 2 additional sites the business prides itself on providing a national service with local expertise. The company is one of the few remaining independently owned procurement specialists that are still owned by the original founders family.

After some testing times during the recession, the business now has a keen eye for growth and is focussing on recruiting high calibre people into their team but also putting a strong emphasis on developing and promoting from within the company itself, leaving a great opportunity to progress your career with such a value led company.

Day to day responsibilities will include preparing revenue reports broken down by product and customer group, tracking variances against target and providing commentary and analysis on performance. The value is driven by identifying trends in performance and providing recommendations for improvement.

Monthly responsibilities include: preparation of financial estimates, assisting with annual planning, budgeting and development of complex pricing models. The monthly reporting will include a review of financial variances between actual/budget/forecast results.

We are supporting to recruit in this role based on technical ability, behaviour and personality traits.

Part qualified (ACCA/CIMA) applicants are ideally a preference by the business, however equally applicants who are qualified by experience with relevant analytical experience will also be considered.

We are looking for someone with strong analytical and communication skills, who has experience of working in a similar role. Advanced Excel skills are required, as the role will involve managing large volumes of data and making it simple to analyse, report and present financial and commercial insights.

Salary will range from £25,000 - £30,000 with additional benefits such as study support, company pension, 21 days holidays plus bank holidays and a day off on your birthday each year!
