MATERIALS / LOGISTICS CONTROLLER
This leading International manufacturing and engineering business are looking to appoint an experienced Materials Controller to support the logistical function in the control of goods to ensure on time delivery, whilst managing stock levels and minimising cost.

Salary: £ 32,000 - £37,000 p.a. + Pension + Benefits
Suitable for: Material Planner, Logistics Planner, Logistics Analyst, Material Analyst, Logistics Scheduler, Logistics Coordinator, Supply Chain Planner, Production Controller
Main accountabilities of the role will be to;
Focus on continuous Supplier development and provide weekly ordering system training to Suppliers where necessary.
Report / monitor delivery performance
Carry out bi-annual 'Stock Take' and Stock check on W.I.P. to maintain 'Just In Time' delivery.
Monitor / update working procedures wherever necessary.
Design change / phase out control.
Monitor stock statistics files.
Monitor / report excessive freight costs.
Justify additional costs where necessary to support business needs.
Carry out Capacity Planning with Suppliers against long term forecast.
Carry out daily progress checks for parts and report on any issues / risks to production.
Progress weekly orders to Suppliers
Progress delivery discrepancies with Supplier and achieve a positive outcome.
Monitor daily progression of back orders.
Provide training for new associates within the department.
Be responsible for the control of supplier required materials.
Promote Health, Safety and Environmental awareness within the team.
Identify and communicate any potential health and safety problems with new materials.
The ideal candidate will come from a proven logistics / materials planning background from an automotive manufacturing or production environment and will have a strong mix of the following skills;
Minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar role.
Good working knowledge of ERP / MRP / SAP.
Strong supplier facing experience and confidence in negotiating where necessary.
Understanding of product / component requirements.
Ability to review, analyse and present data to suppliers, customers and internally.
Proficient in MS Office Suite and Lotus Notes.
