HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER REQUIRED FOR AN IMMEDIATE START!! BASED IN LEAMINGTON SPA £34,000 TO £40,000 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE + FANTASTIC BENEFITS!

My client is a well known organisation and are now looking to recruit a Health & Safety Manager on a permanent basis. The role has overall responsibility to devise and maintain effective H&S management systems for the business and to ensure that the required standards are maintained, improved and remain legally compliant. This will comprise drafting procedures, providing health and safety advice/support, staff training, monitoring a wide range of health and safety compliance across the business and the management of the H&S team which comprises of two H&S advisors. [ The role ]

- The promote the highest possible standards in health and safety, customer care and equal opportunities practice for the benefit of leaders, staff and the wider business
- To develop, implement and monitor an operations H&S plan for the business based on the strategic priorities
- To support all staff in the health and safety development, maintenance and implementation of health and safety policies, procedures and processes
- To develop and to implement the health and safety policy, associated procedures, providing advice, guidance and training to staff to enable them to implement the arrangements
- To Develop systems to monitor compliance with health and safety legislation, policies, procedures and implementation of health and safety audits
- To have overall responsibility for the operational activities including environment management issues, arrangements for environmental monitoring (dust, noise and fumes etc), machinery safety and providing advice to staff on guarding/maintenance and inspection
- Oversee and participate in programmed work place inspections, systematic audits and assist in the development of action plans in order to improve health and safety arrangements throughout the business

[ Person and skills required ]

- NEBOSH diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent degree
- Corporate membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health or working towards it
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety legislation
- A thorough understanding of the risk assessment process
- Expertise in developing procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and good practice provided by authoritative bodies
- A sound knowledge of environmental monitoring, machinery safety and health/safety issues
- Experience of delivery in staff training
- Experience of environmental monitoring
- Experience of using Microsoft Office and Google applications
- Display an excellent telephone manner and flair for high levels of customer service
- To hold a full UK driving licence and own transport
- Ability to travel to various sites within the Midlands/Warwickshire area
