We are now recruiting an Innovation Engineer (Ergonomic & User Interface) to join our new Innovation Team based in Armitage. This is a truly exciting opportunity where the Innovation team ensures the competitiveness advantage of our group portfolio and is accountable for the realization of the defined development projects. This Department is responsible for the Innovation pipeline within the defined target areas and customers. In addition, the team will contribute to improve the knowhow in the focus areas with their own research and collaboration with external partners.

The Innovation Engineer is a full developed specialist in a defined area, in this instance: user interface design and ergonomics in the bathroom and with the capability to organise structured research activity as well as being able to solve problems with creative thinking to develop own ideas / proposals.

Key responsibilities as Innovation Engineer will include:

·Define and elaborate product specification for the bathroom user and translate it in visuals and prototype.

·Display the using process and identify root causes for insolvencies with the interface or using the product.

·Manage own R&D projects and contribute to other projects in the Innovation pipeline

·Project Management / Project Coordination of the own projects with all parties like: PM, Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing or suppliers, securing: quality, time and cost

·Internal and external scouting of innovation

·Definition of activities for the research area with clear targets and risk evaluation

·Cooperation with the Legal department for the IP research / protection and competitor analysis

·Conduct analysis, interpret results with the project teams and provide insight into project obstacles and opportunities for future implementations

·Define quality assessments for new products and technologies

·Organisation of field tests and comparisons with competition

·Using PAP as an comparison tool for our competitiveness

·Actively contribute to the innovation ideation process

Ideally we are looking for candidates who possess the following experience:

·Degree; Engineering one of the different defined innovation areas

·Demonstrable successful work experience in an engineering environment


·Process Analysis

·Field test preparation

·Project Management capabilities (planning, following, booking results, reporting, and manage change of priorities and plans)

·Ability to understand the market needs and implement solutions to the defined problems

·Leadership capabilities with the ability to challenge and to cope with being challenged

·Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, determining next steps based on the findings, making recommendations and tracking results

·Hands on and to work out functional prototypes out of concepts

·Ability to effectively communicate results and problems

·Self-starter, able to work independently with limited supervision

·Excellent command of English, both in speaking and writing
