Accountant (Business Assurance and Governance)

Would you like a challenging opportunity within the newly transformed Land UK function allowing exposure to a wide cross section of the business? We currently have a vacancy for an Accountant (Business Assurance and Governance) at our site in Telford.

As an Accountant (Business Assurance and Governance) you will work within the Land UK function and work on a challenging role that revolves around a structured annual timetable. It will involve a host of responsibilities such as assisting with the annual Financial Controls testing programme including, helping with workbook testing, compiling audit reports and collating and closure of any actions.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to take on a variety of key responsibilities build a fantastic stakeholder network and support a highly experienced team across the business.

Your main responsibilities as an Accountant (Business Assurance and Governance) will involve:

Ensuring Operational Assurance Statement for Finance is completed and adhered to. Developing and maintaining plans to improve scores in adherence to Operational Assurance and business management systems

Contributing to the quarterly COSA processes assisting with the GRC system

Ensuring a consistent approach to business assurance is adopted through close collaboration across functions

Assisting with maintenance and distribution of the Delegation of Authority matrix

Producing monthly AssureNet reports, for review by senior finance management

Liaising with and supporting all internal and external audit requirements

Other Ad Hoc tasks as required in the role

Your skills and qualifications:

Qualified accountant, CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified desirable or equivalent qualification

Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite, fundamentally Excel

Experience producing reports

Strong verbal and written communication skills - able to build good working relationships across all levels of the business

Ability to plan, prioritise and work to tight deadlines, capable of working individually and as part of a team

You will have a logical approach to business operations and a flexible approach to work, with a desire and willingness to achieve. You will be able to work effectively, both as part of a team and independently.

Salary: £30,000
