A strategic alliance has been formed between Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police in order to enable both forces to meet the challenge of reducing policing budgets. By working more closely together the forces will benefit from greater operational and organisational resilience, making us the fourth largest geographic police area in England and Wales.

The main purpose of this role is to give routine guidance on policies and procedures, terms and conditions of service, Police Regulations in line with transactional activity.

To ensure routine HR/Pay information and documentation is processed in accordance with customer service standards.

To provide a customer focussed HR Service through HR process.

Main Responsibilities:
To provide general guidance and support with routine transactions escalating more complex issues to the HR Co-ordinator.

To process routine transactions covering all aspects of transactional activities, ensuring accurate HR records are maintained.

To input and maintain information in HR ORIGIN database and other associated systems both electronic and manual systems.

To input, maintain data and retrieve management information/HR statistics.

To support in the training and development of other HR Assistants including apprentices, work experience and volunteers.

To highlight service improvements and propose changes to business administration processes.

To distribute Employment contracts and variations in a timely manner.

To promote the use of the People Services intranet site, process maps and the ORIGIN HR Self Service facility.

To work collaboratively with other HR colleagues to ensure the delivery of innovative, timely and cost effective people management policies, procedures and practices which support the achievement of organisational aims and objectives.

To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, including cover for colleagues, as required. This will include deployment as necessary to meet the needs of the Force and may include opportunities to be rotated for personal development.

Experience/Skills:
5 GCSEs, Grades A-C or equivalent including Maths and English.

Experience of dealing with administrative processes.

Experience of retrieving statistical information.

Experience of working as part of a team in a customer service environment.

Experience of working within a transactional team.

Good IT skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook).

Good verbal communication skills.

Ability to work to tight deadlines.

Ability to deliver customer service within a team environment.

Ability to enter information accurately using appropriate IT systems.

Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
