Position Description:
Telematics Project Engineer OR Connected Car Project Engineer. The Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Connected Car team is delivering industry leading, customer exciting Telematics, Infotainment and Vehicle Management services. These services operate in conjunction with Vehicle, Smartphone and Tablet Applications, and are built on a number of Cloud platforms. JLR Connected Car are looking for a hands-on Project Manager, or Delivery Manager, to take strong control over an existing portfolio of projects and workstreams, to deliver the next phase of Connected Car features and services.
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver projects utilising project management techniques to ensure the delivery and achievement of planned outputs to support the achievement of strategic business objectives in connected car within vehicle engineering. Lead key strategic projects and work streams; from scoping to delivery and including cross-functional engagement and stakeholder management, ensuring quality, cost and timescales are prioritised as appropriate. Manage dependencies between suppliers and in-vehicle systems. Management of the delivery and integration of Connected Car partners and suppliers including Telematics Service Provider, Hosting Providers, Content Providers, and Mobile Network Operators to deliver the off-board service infrastructure. Management and co-ordination of the Project Software Releases to multiple Environments, co-ordinating activities between Infrastructure partners, Product Managers, Design Authority, Integration, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure the delivery Quality. Leading the off-board Infrastructure SW development processes with the infrastructure partners and provide the project prioritisation of the development requirements into the Agile SW development. Plan for and manage project risks, issues and dependencies to maximise likelihood of project success, escalating upwards where necessary. Partner with the operational business to understand current processes and to document and prioritise requirements for changes and additions. Management of required Governance, including milestone reporting, project status reporting, financial reporting and risk and issue management.

Managing geographically, and culturally diverse project teams.

Experience Required:
Previous experience of working in a Project Management role with a track record of successful delivery of complex technical projects, to market.
Methodical detailed approach to work to managing multiple 3rd parties, and internal stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills to identify and resolve complex dependencies.
Project scoping, planning, tracking, reporting, risk/issue management.
Managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Negotiation and adaptability.
Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience Preferred:
Experience in vehicle telematics, mobile telecommunications, IT infrastructure.
Experience working in/with complex x-functional organisations, and proven experience to manage delivery of complex products and features across multiple stakeholders and partners in global locations.
Stakeholder Management expertise, specifically the ability to confidently advise and influence senior stakeholders.
Relevant qualification and/or training in a recognised appropriate Project Management methodology, e.g. APM, PMP, ITIL, PRINCE2.
Commercially astute with an ability to understand the business function that this role supports
