Our client is a leading supplier of Steels to the global Automotive sector and is looking to appoint a Customer Technical Support Engineer to join the team at their base in Birmingham. This position will be as a Technical Support and Resident Engineer for its automotive clients, providing a technical/commercial relationship with the client to deliver their high quality products, solutions and services.

You will be first point of contact for all technical issues with regard to sales, development, assistance, cost saving activities, analysing specifications, claim management and you will also be responsible for relaying issues on the part of the customer with regard to quality, production or other technical requirements.

As Resident Engineer you will work closely with Automotive customers engineering departments and material experts, liaising closely and helping and advising in decision making with regard to steel usage and requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a technical background acquired through an Engineering degree or through professional experience in production or quality management, an individual who is able to work autonomously and is a good team player, with excellent inter-personal skills.

This position will involve travel within the UK and Europe. It offers a competitive salary package including company car, bonus, medical cover and pension contributions.
