The Opportunity

The ideal candidate has several year's experience Designing BMS Systems and has some sort of background in networking, such as having a CCNA.

The role

Your role will be to provide technical and application support to all internal and external customers, and engineers in the field of our clients all over the UK and internationally on BMS projects including installs retrofits, fault finding, commissioning, maintenance and modifications. You'll provide advice to new customers or existing clients looking at BMS solutions.

This support will cover both a broad range of BMS Solutions and products, requiring strong knowledge of AHUs, HVAC, Lighting, Security, Sensors, Control Panels, Direct Digital Controls, Building Automation and Control Systems and other BMS infrastructure. This is however not a hands on role, it's a shirt and tie office environment learning and developing your knowledge base with great internal progression chances into senior engineering and management.

Full training is provided in this role, you are not expected to be ready to come in on day one and start on this role, what they do what to tap into however is your hands on technical knowledge. This will not be a quick process, and you'll still find yourself training and developing 12-18 months into the role. The initial training programme is quite intense and will last for a period of at least 3 months before you are promoted into the support department and then your learning really commences. An example of someone who we placed a year ago in this role has already gone on to complete his level 4 qualification all paid for by our client and said the training is truly second to none and he is looking at stepping up the ladder over the coming 12-24 months.

This role will require you to provide the highest levels of customer care at all times and be able to communicate technical issues and solutions to non-technical individuals. If you therefore sometimes feel as if you are doing your job with your eyes closed, or could explain to someone not on your site how to complete a similar task, that's how this role effectively works.

This is ideal for someone who is looking at cutting down travel and being based in cutting edge offices with real progression opportunities in a static working environment.

The Candidate

You will be very familiar with one or more of the following solutions; DESIGO (Siemens), Andover Continuum, Satchwell, TAC, TREND, StruxureWare or Tridium BMS systems. we may also be able to consider those who have worked with alternative kit. You will be ambitious and want to grow and develop with a leading organisation, where you will be given the full support and opportunity to be the best you can be. You need to be a straightforward talker who is always up for a challenge and passionate about the work they undertake. You will need to be open to new experiences, including learning new systems and undertaking a lot of training.

*Educated to HNC and/or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
*Experience within BMS (Building Management System) Controls in one of the following - DESIGO (Siemens), TREND, StruxureWare, Andover Continuum, Satchwell or TAC

This is important as you will need to explain and assist with problems and advice relating to these areas. Suitable candidates may have worked previously as maintenance engineers, field engineers, fitters, switchgear, lineman, technicians, AP's and are now looking to move inside to a role which offers extensive development and progression.

Candidates will need to enjoy creating relationships with customers and engineers alike. Candidates should be well organised with time management skills and have good all round I.T. skills, including all Microsoft packages.

A CCNA or COMPTIA is a big advantage but not essential.
