Customer Liaison Engineer
My client is a leading automotive manufacturing business based in the Midlands and they are seeking a Customer Liaison Engineer to join their growing Applications Engineering team.

Customer Liaison Engineer
Summary of Position
Liaise permanently with the respective customers to support the Regional/Global Application Engineering Platform Teams for communication on technical matters

Customer Liaison Engineer
Core Responsibilities
• Direct contact with Customer as extension of Platform(s) teams
• Personal relationship builder with customer
• Understand the customer requirements / specifications for the product
• Facilitate new business opportunity discussions & collaboration activities
• Negotiation interface for drawing release and change management
• D-Phase & VAVE management / margin enhancement
• Coordinator of actions / responses as required by Platform(s) teams, especially for time-critical issues (eg. Problem Solving and Eng Deliverables)
• Maintains common approach / technical standardization across Customer Platforms
• Specific support to "Account Initiatives" as agreed for European region
• Interface to local suppliers / sub-suppliers for programme specific needs
• Engineering and programme data management.
• Support the local Prototype and Test planning/reporting activities.
• IMDS data input, local MRP system data input and structure.
• Support quality improvement & related problem-solving initiatives
• Additional Application Engineering tasks as agreed with the Chief Eng and/or the Site Global Engineering Manager
• The individual may have to carry out other tasks not described above in line with business needs.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience/Skills
Education/ Experience/ Skills:
• Engineering Degree or equivalent

Knowledge of the following:
• Knowledge/understanding of company Product Lines would be an advantage.
