Network Transformation Programme Director

We are seeking an experience Programme Director who will be responsible for the management of multiple projects that combine to deliver a £80m technology replacement programme over the next three years, upgrading our Clients mission critical national infrastructure. You will have demonstrable success leading telecommunications and ICT based technology programmes in a safety or mission critical environment, and utilising frameworks such as MSP or Prince2.

As part of a Managed Service, the programme will require the successful on time delivery of design, test, and implementation phases working closely with the Client and telents Technology and Delivery Operations functions.

Experience of managing multiple stakeholders and building strong relationships with the Client and Suppliers to meet the programme objectives will be essential for this role. You will also have a good understanding of commercial and financial management of programmes, particularly using Government contract models.

You will be responsible for:

The delivery of the Transformation Programme, ensuring that each project is delivered on time, within budget, and has achieves the agreed Client acceptance criteria.

Implementing and maintaining the programme structure, including the allocation of resources, capabilities and appropriate governance mechanisms to meet the programme objectives

Ensuring that the programme achieves key milestones dates and project phases such as Design, FAT, SAT and Transition into service for all Transformation Projects.

Management information reporting and governance for all projects.

Managing risk throughout the programme.

Ensuring that Health & Safety is a priority across all aspects of the programme

Implementing a culture of continuous improvement in everything we do.

Establishing and developing the project management team, setting standards, identifying the required levels of training and defining specific project roles for all projects. Including production of project specific roles and responsibilities for the project team.

Ensuring that all project materials and documentation are produced to a high standard, are agreed and approved by the Client and managed throughout the project lifecycle.

Experience:

The candidate will have an excellent track record in the successful delivery of complex technology refresh programmes for Government based contracts in excess of £50m

Excellent leadership and people management skills working in a cross functional / matrix environment

Proven ability in establishing successful programme organisation structures and driving collaborative behaviours with Clients, Suppliers, and internal delivery teams

Excellent Client facing skills, comfortable engaging at senior levels within their organisation

Strong and proven ability to work under pressure

Excellent influencing and negotiating skills Excellent financial and commercial awareness, and particular knowledge of the Government ICT contract requirements would be an advantage

Is recognised as an expert within the organisation

Working Knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental legislation

Experience of delivery in the Transport sector would be an advantage

Qualifications:

Prince 2 qualified to Practitioner level or similar industry recognised discipline

Degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline. MBA is desirable
