Project Manager (Contract) - Coventry

We are looking for a contract Project Manager, initially for a 12 month period for a leading Aerospace Tier 1 supplier, to be based at their Coventry facilities.

Purpose of the position:
The Project Manager plans, monitors and manages internal project(s), from initiation through
Completion of the transfer of the Processes and Procedures of the Group's multiple OEM business units for Spares and aftermarket services, to single service points of contact in different continents. This is to streamline the end clients supply chain in having to deal with a single one per continent instead of contacting multiple OBU's but still receiving delivery "in time and in full".

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the transfer of commercial spares from the OE business units to the new central distribution hubs in the UK and USA.
  • Plan, coordinate, implement and finalises projects according to specifications and deadlines.
  • Define the project's objectives, creates schedules and oversees quality control throughout the entire project.
  • Work with other participants to complete project scope, goals and deliverables, while adhering to the budget and timing constraints.
  • Create schedules and reviews timeline objectives with team in order to estimate efforts required to reach objectives.
  • Identify, assess and minimise risks throughout the project lifecycle, seeking to prevent losses.
  • Tracks and reports milestones and provides regular status reports.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work within and contribute to a team type approach of working and participate in the continuous improvement process essential for the ongoing development of the cell.

Professional experience and/or qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
  • 5 -7 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong background in project management methodology.
  • Develops improvements and innovations to enhance performance of the Project Management Team.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and interface with cross-functional disciplines; using excellent interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion.
  • Business travel may be required, as and when the project dictates.
  • Self-motivated with problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop clear and detailed plans.

  • Day Rate Negotiable dependent on experience.
