Job Description

Job Title: Senior Head of Quality / IMS Manager - Site

Department: Production

Directly responsible to: Production Director

Main function: Responsible for the day-to-day production activities throughout the factory, ensuring that customer due dates are met and products are manufactured to the correct quality standards.

Role responsibilities:

We are looking for someone who has experience in a manufacturing environment, worked with/ implemented ISO 9000/ ISO 9001 and is an ISO 14001 conscious individual, alongside managing the companies BOPAS, CE Marking and EN1090 accreditations/certifications

Job Description
With appropriate leadership, the Quality Manager will guide the business as a whole towards a long term quality assurance vision, formalising quality policies & procedures, and establish performance metrics for the business. Implementing ISO 14001 and updating their ISO 9000 procedures are two key projects for this individual to look at along with CE Marking, BOPAS and EN1090 accreditations/certifications, alongside:
• To champion the development of a quality culture. Communicate and share the company quality policies and philosophy to key personnel in the company and promote the awareness of customer requirements throughout the organisation.
• Continually develop, manage and control all aspects of the company Quality Management System to ensure that processes needed for it to operate effectively are established, implemented and maintained.
• Maintain the mechanisms for the timely reporting and analysis of process quality data and recommend / coordinate / facilitate continuous improvement activities.
• Establish and implement the necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of quality issues across the business.
• Brief the manufacturing team on quality performance and inform senior management of significant developments identified during quality control activities.
• Development and implementation of the Integrated management system at Elements Europe
• Ongoing Maintenance of the IMS to ensure it is current in relation to both legislation and operations
• Interpret legislative information to translate into practical workable documentation for the IMS
• Maintain certification for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, BOPAS, CE Marking and EN1090.
• Act as primary co-ordinator for the external certification body to ensure the IMS standards are achieved and maintained
• Liaise with operational managers to support the development, delivery and maintenance of the IMS at the local level.
• Mange the system to ensure that the work activities required within the IMS are completed on time and in the manner originally intended
• Manage. Organise and monitor the IMS audit programme
• Undertake internal audits, both formally as part of the audit programme and informally.
• Organise and distribute the documentation for the IMS Management review.
• Report on the performance of the IMS to directors, senior managers and other interested parties.
• Identify training needs related to the IMS
• Ensure full compliance with all company policies and procedures including health and safety and employment.

• Ensure that an internal audit programme is adopted to verify that the QMS conforms to planned expectations and is effectively implemented and maintained. Ensure that appropriate action is taken when this is not the case.
The Successful Applicant
As the Quality Manager to be considered you will need to demonstrate the following:
• Ideally Degree qualified or equivalent.
• You will be able to demonstrate a track record as a Quality Manager of an ISO9001 or an ISO14001 accredited manufacturing company
• Proven ability to apply root cause and problem solving methodologies to identify quality related problems and implement actions.
• The ability to train and coach new / existing departmental employees in quality philosophies, techniques and improvement methodologies.
• Proven leadership and people management.
