Senior Residential Manager

Location: Rowden, Bromyard, Herefordshire, HR7 4LS
Salary: GBP31,000 - GBP36,000.00 per annum
Contract: Full time, Permanent

We are seeking an experienced and committed care professional to become the Senior Residential Manager at Rowden House School.

This senior position requires someone of Registered Manager calibre, or those aspiring to become a Registered Manager in the near future.

The successful candidate will effectively manage the care provision for their 'wing' for around 12 children.

Qualifications & Training

- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or Caring for Children & Young People or equivalent
- A good working knowledge of children's learning disability services
- 2 years' experience in a supervisory role within the care or education sector
- 2 years' experience of working within a residential setting
- Previous experience of working with young people with learning disabilities and autism
- Achieved or willing to work towards Diploma Level 5 in Health and Social Care immediately on appointment
- Valid current driving licence and own means of transport.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

- A commitment to best practice within the care provision
- A clear understanding of Quality Assurance against Quality Standards
- A good understanding and experienced in managing Safeguarding incidents and complaints
- Experience liaising with the LADO, OFSTED and other external stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- An ability to listen to and engage with stakeholders, including staff and those in our care
- An ability to motivate and inspire others in their work with a positive outlook and approach to tasks.
- Organised, maintaining attention to detail and a commitment to following tasks through to a close
- The ability to plan and prioritise work and time effectively using own initiative
- An ability to work shifts that include early and late shifts, sleep ins and weekends and able to provide advice and support for the site as an on call manager
- Reliable, disciplined and able to maintain energy and enthusiasm during difficult periods.
- Take advantage of training and developmental opportunities and become a Registered Manager

The successful candidate will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS check, will be subject to thorough background checks and must be able to gain OFSTED registration in the future.
