The Company

Backed by the resources of a market leading manufacturing Group, our client is a recognised global leader in the design and manufacture of a range of leading edge products for the automotive and aerospace industries. Due to strong company growth and a continued emphasis to maintain advantage over their competitors, there is now an exciting opportunity for a Materials & Logistics Manager to join this expanding group.


The Role

Reporting to the Operations Director, and managing a team of Planners, Warehouse and Logistics, you will develop and implement supply chain and logistics strategies to achieve budgeted improvements in quality, cost and delivery. Key tasks include:

  • Drive profitability of the business, leading the supply chain, distribution, stock management, ERP and quality systems
  • Improve business processes, rationalising the existing supply chain through lean philosophies, effective contract negotiations and improving supplier OTD/OTIF and lead times
  • Manage the necessary documentation for the efficient, cost-efficient and lawful execution of all import/export activities including tariffs and duties, licences and restrictions


The Person

Ideally, you will be highly experienced Supply Chain, Materials & Logistics Manager, and will:

  • Be degree qualified with excellent end-to-end Supply Chain experience within a fast paced lean manufacturing environment
  • Have a formal qualification in logistics, supply chain or customs and transportation
  • Have strong knowledge of carriers, national and international transportation/freight forwarding and trade compliance
  • Have superb all round communication skills and be able to communicate at all levels internally and externally
  • Have working knowledge of ERP (ideally SAP)
  • Strong staff management experience and a demonstrable track record of embracing and driving culture change and continuous improvement
