Key Account Manager (Tool Hire)

Up to GBP50,000 + Car + Bonus

I am looking for a Key Account Manager to work at an exciting company within the Hire industry. Covering a patch ranging from Manchester down to Birmingham, you will be looking after the company's key accounts and maximising profit. This is a great opportunity for someone who has extensive sales experience within the Tool Hire industry and is looking for a new challenge.


-Manage Accounts on a National basis and produce an annual plan to deliver revenue budget as agreed with Sales Director. Be responsible for all the company's activities within the specified account.

-Coordinate and manage relationship development at a local level between the customers regional office and sites and depots and Operations team.

-Mutually agree turnover by hire product category, and gain ownership from the customers head office and regions.

-Communicate with and build business relationships with the Directors, Buyers and Regional managers of the designated key account.

-Establish the key accounts turnover and strategic objectives and tailor the offering to achieve them.

-Manage customer spend, process compliance, losses and debtor days. Be responsible for securing payment within the agreed terms from the customer.

-Track account spend by category, by month, against turnover targets and propose actions to grow the business, reporting performance and actions on a monthly basis.

-Organise and attend quarterly (or as mutually agreed) meetings with head office and Managers/Directors of the key account to monitor progress and agree actions.

-In consultation with, and authorisation of, Sales Director, negotiate and agree terms for the designated key account.

-Initiate promotions and innovative ideas to achieve and support objectives for the key account.

-Interface with suppliers to present new products to head office and regional offices of the key account and agree a plan for the utilisation.

-Manage the interface between operations, the field sales team, marketing, selected approved suppliers and the key account.

-Feedback and agree a time scale of all required actions with the Sales Director, Operations, the Field sales team, marketing and the key account.

-Feedback market information to Head Office marketing in order to keep abreast of competition and changing market conditions.

-Interface with the head office departments to initiate process improvements that will result in easier more profitable business transactions between the key account and the company.

-Actively seek new profitable business from new and current market sectors.

-In conjunction other business functions identify and implement the correct processes with new customers to secure invoice compliance and payment within terms
