ERP Software Manufacturing Consultant, home based
We are looking for a client facing functional Implementation Consultant who has worked with manufacturing / MRP solutions, or has implemented ERP software into manufacturing companies. The role is based from home anywhere in the UK, with the usual travel to client sites (2 to 3 days a week on client site and a day in their Midlands head office once a fortnight or so). The company is a solid, profitable, well managed software reseller with a great track record and over 30 years in the business. Base salary to GBP45k, GBP5k car allowance, group bonus, plus personal utilisation bonus of between GBP5k and GBP12k per annum.
This software consultancy has a range of ERP Software solutions that they sell, and this team of people is focused on their manufacturing software solutions. They have a team of ERP Consultants and Project Managers working on projects for manufacturing clients, particularly discrete manufacturing, food & drink manufacturing and distribution companies, as well as fashion & apparel and furniture manufacturers.
You will work on complex requirements most often in discrete manufacturing environments. So you need to have implemented ERP software into manufacturing companies and will be happy talking to production people; you understand the business processes of productions lines, wastage and machine utilisation, production schedules and materials requirements and planning and can translate these needs to ensure a good software fit.
A typical software implementation project is anywhere from 50 to 250 consulting days. They look after their clients very well and build long term relationships and companies tend to stay loyal to them. So this would suit someone who wants to go the extra mile, who wants to spend the extra time with the client to fight over a business process change and to make sure the client gets the right result. You will have functional consulting & software implementation experience and can take the requirements, run workshops, liaise with the clients, configure the software where required, and ensure your clients are getting the best return.
Their ERP solutions are nice windows based products, they sell well and clients like them for their ease of use. They are refreshingly up to date and are sold on-premise and in the cloud. You will learn both products inside out.
This is a great job; the company are extremely well organised and sell their projects correctly, so you will have enough time to do a decent job for each client's implementation. They have over 500 ERP clients; they know what they are doing and do it well. They are looking for a likeminded experienced ERP Consultant with manufacturing, who can get on with projects and does not need to be micro managed - someone who can ask for help when they need it. You will be polite, personable, professional, calm, collected, and a solid, safe pair of hands.
You will shadow a Consultant for the first few weeks and attend training courses, as well as eLearning studies of the software products.
