Capita plc has recently signed contract with Transport for London (TfL) to operate the congestion charging, low emission zone and traffic enforcement notice processing schemes.

Purpose of the role:

The purpose of the Scheduling Manager is to pro-actively manage people, systems and processes to ensure that contracted service levels are maintained at a minimum cost to the business. To be responsible for the implementation of all policies and processes that may affect volume and handle time forecasting, the scheduling of staff, operational variance reporting and the tools that are used to accomplish this. Reporting to the Resource Planning Manager, the Scheduling Manager is responsible for successfully leading a team of Planning Analysts in order to achieve business objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • To accurately forecast volume and handling time of all work items and processes to an agreed level of accuracy incorporating regular audits

  • To manage a team of WFM analysts, ensuring that all operational requirements are forecasted and planned effectively and understood, in line with internally agreed SLA's.

  • To manage the recruitment volume and intake dates to provide optimum staffing levels in conjunction with the recruitment team & all operational areas

Key skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to deliver resource planning information that is understood.

  • Proven organisational and planning skills and ability to deliver on time to tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrable skills in report production and presentation of data in a user friendly way.

  • Excellent Excel and Access skills.

  • Experience of managing people with the ability to build and lead teams

    and ability to promote new ideas/innovation.
